Job matching

Find roles worth a closer look.

Rolfox uses your resume and search preferences to help you discover relevant jobs and understand why a role might fit. Spend your attention on the opportunities you can make a case for.

Start with your experience and your target

Upload your resume, then check the extracted profile. A resume describes what you have done; your search preferences describe what you want next. Keep both accurate, especially if you are switching roles or returning after a break.

For a software engineering search in India, that might mean choosing backend roles, Bengaluru and remote locations, and a level that matches your experience. For a US search, check location and work-authorization requirements in the original posting rather than assuming that a matching title makes you eligible.

  1. Check your skills, experience and target role after uploading your resume.
  2. Set locations and search preferences, and exclude companies you do not want to pursue.
  3. Read the match explanation alongside the original job description.
  4. Shortlist a role, tailor your resume and decide whether a relevant conversation would help.

Read the reasons behind a match

A useful match connects requirements to evidence. Look for overlap in responsibilities, tools, experience level and location. Review gaps as carefully as strengths: a familiar title can still hide a role that needs a very different background.

Rolfox's fit score helps you prioritize. It is not an employer's applicant-tracking score, an interview probability or a hiring decision. Treat it as a starting point for reviewing a role, especially when the listing is short or your resume is missing context.

Illustrative decision
A backend role asks for Node.js, PostgreSQL and production API work. Your resume supports the first two, but says little about running services. Review whether you have real operational experience to add before prioritizing the role.

This example explains how to assess fit. It is not a live vacancy or a promise of a particular score.

Check the listing before you act

Job listings can change or close after discovery. Confirm the role on the employer's application page, including its location, responsibilities and application deadline. If salary or sponsorship is not stated, keep it as unknown rather than treating an estimate as a commitment.

Rolfox brings discovered opportunities into your workspace, but does not cover every employer or opening. You still choose which jobs to pursue and submit your own applications.

Common questions

Can I use job matching outside technology?
Yes. Set your target roles and locations to match your search. The quality of a match depends on the resume information and the available job descriptions, so review the reasons rather than relying only on a number.
Can I change my job preferences?
Yes. Update target roles, locations and other search preferences in Settings as your search changes.
Does a high match score mean I will get an interview?
No. It indicates an assessment of fit from the available information. Employers use their own criteria, and the applicant pool and hiring process are outside Rolfox's control.
